A helping hand for up and coming talent
Getting noticed in the music business is tough, but the BPM Promo Exchange provides an opportunity for fresh talent to gain exposure. Visitors to BPM are invited to bring along their demo CDs to be distributed through this unique concept.
Unsigned artistes and producers are invited to bring along a pile of their demo CDs or white label vinyls and drop them off at the Promo Exchange when they arrive at BPM. Throughout the weekend the various music industry visitors attending the show will be invited to pick up a couple of demos to take away with them. This will allow artistes and producers to get their material directly into the hands of the right people from record labels and also DJs, who are often taste makers and trend setters. Visitors who take promos from the exchange will be asked to contact the artiste and comment on the demo when they have listened to it, which will provide valuable feedback.
DJs are also welcome to come armed with their demo mix CDs, as many club managers and promoters also attend BPM. The Promo Exchange allows DJs to get their mixes heard by potential employers as well as by other DJs. Circulating demos to like minded DJs is a great way of making contacts and pick up feedback.
The Promo Exchange is organised by musical genre and helpful staff will be on-hand to insure that each promo makes its way into the hands of a worthy recipient. Anyone who submits their demo is welcome to spend time in the Exchange, meeting face to face with the visitors who are interested in their work.
The Promo Exchange gives aspiring artistes and producers the opportunity to get their demos played by DJs who can give grass roots exposure to their tracks. It also provides an opportunity for DJs to pick up fresh material and also to raise awareness and gain feedback on their own work.
