This session will be an opportunity for up-and-coming artistes to play a segment of one of their tracks to the panel who will then offer a critique on the production and advice to the artiste on moving their career forward.

Steven Lee
Steven Lee is one half of the massive Lee-Cabrera team who’s 2004 “Shake It” record garnered record of the year honors and champed a #10 national pop chart position with “Shake It” (Move a Little Closer). Signed with Ministry of Sound world-wide and a regular on Pete Tong’s Essential Selection Steven Lee has tasted all this business has to offer in the last five short years. In 2008 Lee attacked the studio and turned out 10 new singles with the first of the bunch being signed to premiere European labels. With successful original work comes even more successful remix work. Steven Lee has produced over 40 remixes to date with records like “My Time”- Crystal Waters, “It’s Up To You” - Layo & Bushwacka, “Bang Bang”- Audio Bulleys feat Nancy Sinatra, “Big Love”- Pete Heller, “Fly Life”-Basement Jaxx, “Mothership” - ATFC and “Not Enough”- Roger Sanchez.

Des Paul
Des Paul has been working in the music and broadcast media industry for 15 years. From his roots in South London cable radio, he joined Capital Radio in 1996 and spent 8 years presenting award-winning shows for Power FM and the Capital Network. Des also produced and developed specialist dance music shows ranging from house to UK Garage. In 2004 he came to Choice FM as Head of Music after their acquisition by Capital, and spent 2 years completely rebuilding the music policy and saw the station through its strongest period of growth bringing in the highest audience figures in its history. Des moved to MTV Networks UK & Ireland in 2006 as Acting Head of Music Programming working on strategy for the music output of the 9 MTV UK & Ireland Music Channels. 2008 saw Des return to radio producing, play-listing and presenting two weekend dance music shows for Capital FM. He also moved to Ministry of Sound to consult as Head of Media looking after MoS TV and MoS Radio. Earlier this year he took the opportunity to play for Hed Kandi and is now travelling all over the world playing glamorous house music.

Visitor Numbers Up 50% At BPM 2009 The 2009 BPM event at the Birmingham NEC over the weekend of the 3rd and 4th of October attracted record numbers, and has been hailed by organisers as a resounding success. Visitor numbers went up by 50% from last year, with a total of 3897 visitors attending over the weekend. Attendees came from all corners of the UK, with some making the trip from mainland Europe and even further afield!
