BCX-DJ Demonstration

On Sunday 11th at BPM there will be a presentation on BCX-DJ, a software application ideal for hospital / student radio and party / mobile DJs.

For the past ten years Barrcode limited, based near Norwich in the UK, has been producing software especially tailored to the needs of British radio. Early products included sophisticated CD Jukebox play-out systems used by both commercial radio and the BBC. Later this was followed by some of the first ground-breaking hard-disc technology that could be used to playback ad-breaks and jingles etc.

Barrcode began developing BCX over a decade ago. In that time, BCX and BCX2 have evolved into one of the most successful play-out systems available in the UK today and used in many prominent radio stations. Barrcode has produced state-of-the-art software that is being used by some of the major radio stations in the UK. Amongst these is the GCap group.

Following collaboration with radio presenter David Hoffman (Rick Wakeman’s sidekick on Planet Rock!) Barrcode are please to present BCX-DJ, a more affordable play-out system ideal for Hospital Radio and party DJ applications.

Windows XP and Vista compatible, BCX-DJ offers manual, live assist and automatic options for programme output, an easy to use screen layout, quick database access for finding and playing songs or any other audio and playlist memory. BCX-DJ will play wav, mp3 and ogg vorbis files and has a built-in ripper/recording suite.

With the option of up to four audio outputs, BCX-DJ is ideal for studio use and has been road tested for the mobile disc jockey who wants instant access to songs and jingles.

At BPM David Hoffman will present a seminar on BCX-DJ, explaining how it works and what benefits it can offer users. The session will end with an opportunity to pick David’s brains and ask questions about the software. The BCX-DJ seminar will take place at 1pm on Sunday 11th November and will be available to all BPM visitors, however to ensure a place ticket holders can reserve their seat on the seminar pages of the BPM website now.
