A highly popular feature of this year’s BPM was the Gemini Freestyle DJ Competition. The talent was impressive and competition fierce as each DJ only had 5 minutes to showcase their DJ skills in front of a judging panel of industry professionals. The competition was open to DJs playing any style of music, using any playback technology, and the winner received some fantastic equipment prizes.

A new feature at this year’s BPM, the PA Experience will provide a unique opportunity to listen to some of the best sound systems around, all in one place, at one time.

BPM 2010 attracted a record breaking 6048 visitors across three days from the 2nd to the 4th of October. The general response from both exhibitors and visitors has been fantastic, with high expectations already building for next year’s event. To ensure that any issues are addressed and that visitors’ expectations are met and surpassed the BPM organisers want to hear from everyone who attended the event. Allen & Heath will unveil the new Xone:DB4 on Saturday 2nd October at BPM. Allen & Heath has remained tight-lipped about what it promises will be a truly groundbreaking product, fuelling feverish speculation on the forums. All will be revealed at noon sharp on stand C4.

One of the many highlights of last year’s BPM was the Ultimate Prize Draw, a massive gear giveaway, which took place at the end of each day. Two lucky winners both took home huge prize packs with a combined value of over £7500. The Ultimate Prize Draw will return to BPM again in 2010 with another amazing prize package that will be gradually revealed over the next couple of weeks. Today we are pleased to be able to announce the first item for the 2010 prize pile: a brand new Denon DN-X600 mixer, a model that will be displayed for the first time in Europe at BPM.

Every visitor will receive a free copy of the REBEAT digital music distribution software in their BPM welcome pack, which allows a three track single to be uploaded and sold online with no fees. This unique tool allows artists and independent labels to get their music out to all the major online retailers from their home or office and then receive 85% of the sales revenue.

Tickets for BPM 2010 are now on sale. Following a tremendously successful show in 2009, which attracted close to 4000 visitors, BPM 2010 will return to the Birmingham NEC later this year from Saturday 2nd to Monday 4th October - an extra day due to last year's popularity.
